In the Details: Map it Out
>> Monday, March 14, 2011
I remember when I saw the first wedding maps. I loved the idea and thought they were beautiful, but it wasn't really a key piece of stationery that you had to have. It's amazing how in such a short time the wedding map is a valued part of the stationery suite.
They are used to direct guest to various locations over a weekend wedding or to helping guest navigate city streets from ceremony to reception. What I love is the beautiful artistry mixed with pretty calligraphy that allows an added bit of personality to your wedding stationery. While you can keep it simple or go ornate. A wedding map shouldn't compromise function for style.
Usually when you see a wedding map it's for a destination wedding, but why not incorporate a map into your save the date or to serve as an added visual to written directions.
Whether you're having a wedding close to home or making it a destination, think about including a wedding map into your stationery suite. It is more than just another pretty piece of stationery.
