In the Details: Silver and Gold

>> Monday, December 6, 2010

Happy Monday everyone.  I hope you had a wonderful weekend.  I can't help but notice around the holidays the increase in sparkling, silver and gold loveliness.  As a girl who loves sparkle, I notice that these metallic hues are used sparingly as a decorative accent in weddings.  Who says that's the only option? Why not build your wedding theme around the metallic hues of silver, gold or both?  Now I do believe you can have too much of a good thing, but if you mix in your metallic right, you will never think you've used too much.  Here's some photo inspiration to help.

Start with the attire, you can completely sparkle

or have just a little shimmer in your wedding dress

Why not go all the way with your accessories

Of course when it comes to decor, there are plenty of ways to use silver and gold hues  from table settings to centerpieces.  If you need a little color, you can always mix that in too.

Think about flowers in grey and gold hues to resemble silver and gold.

Of course you can't leave out the stationery

Add one last touch of sparkle with a metallic hued wedding cake.

If a silver or gold hued wedding may be too much for you, why not break it out to specific details of your decor, the flowers or the wedding cake.  Whether you use a little or a lot, your day is sure to sparkle.
