In the Details: Short and Sweet

You see that dress? It is by far one of my favorite Oscar De Larenta dresses, even today when I see this picture I still swoon over it. Now of course when some think of wedding dresses they may envision something lovely like this from Vera Wang.

This dress is beautiful but a lady should always have options and I'm so happy the short wedding dress hasn't become some faded trend. If you're looking to add your own twist to your wedding day think about something short and sweet. Now just because you select a short wedding dress doesn't mean you compromise style or tradition. Check out some of my favorite dresses and see for yourself.

Today We Are 2

Today Pretty Little Things is celebrating its 2nd year and it all started with this fabulous find. Today I want to highlight some of my favorite Pretty Little Things from this blog and start a new series called Friday Faves where I share some of my favorite discoveries from other blogs.

This table Setting from Kate Spade is always a favorite

While I featured this Mini Donut Maker as a perfect Christmas gift who says this wouldn't be perfect to add to your wedding registry or housewarming wishlist?

What can I say these Kate Spade Ballet Flats are fabulous

I just recently ran across this Oscar De La Renta Dress again and I still swoon over it.

This Cupcake Cake Mold is perfect for birthdays young and old and still one of my niece's favorite cakes.

Of course there is plenty of other Pretty Little Things I could feature but these are some of my Faves for this Friday.

Thank you to everyone who reads this blog and all the other bloggers who continue to inspire me to share Pretty Little Things.

For the Hostess in You

I'm really loving these Botanical Trays from Simrin. What makes them wonderful is these illustrations are hand painted on to fabric then laminated.

Of course these would be a perfect gift for your girlfriend who loves hosting parties and of course as always, you can get one of these for you too.

In The Details-Swiss Dot

While I love bags, wedge heels and all things sweet, I also love weddings and all the little details that make a wedding fabulous and unique. Starting this week, I'm introducing a new series where I share a wedding detail I love and have seen in weddings around the blogosphere. Today, it's all about Swiss Dot.

Whether it's on a cake or dress, this little wedding element is one that I simply love, it's unexpected it's classic but also a little fun. If you're planning your wedding or just dreaming for the future, here are some reasons why Swiss Dot would be a lovely detail to include in your special day.

Melissa Sweet "Dora" Dress

Carolina Hererra Dress from Spring 2010

I have to admit this post on this fabulous blog, and the Pronovias dress that is featured is where the inspiration for today's feature came from. Every time I see a dress with Swiss Dot, I can't help but swoon over it's loveliness. Wait, there's more. Swiss dot is not just for your dress it can be found in other elements as well like your cake and head piece.

Your Table in Black and White

It's true I'm a girl who loves pattern and color, but sometimes you need to change it up. Let go of that color for the basic black and white color palette. These pieces would be perfect.

Hollyhock Platter

Hollyhock Bowl

Mina Placemats

Or think about using just this Mina tablecloth or accenting with these Mina Napkins from Anthropologie

If your looking for dinnerware, these pieces from the Vintage Dahlia collection would be perfect.

If you love the idea of black and white for your table but need a little color. Mix it up and have fun.
