In the Details: Ribbons and Bows

>> Monday, June 21, 2010

There was a time the mention of ribbons and bows on a wedding dress or bridesmaid dress didn't result in anything pretty. If the first thought that came to your mind are the ghastly misplaced bows on bridesmaids dresses around the 1980s, then you know what I'm talking about. Today, that is not the case, a pretty bow is no longer massive and out of place but a perfect way to tie a dress design together.

Bow or Ribbon details do not have to be cute. This detail can be displayed with stylish sophistication. There are so many creative ways to incorporate this simple wedding detail and have it work for a traditional, modern or vintage inspired wedding. If you need a few photos of inspiration, here you go.

If you're not sure how to design your wedding cake or what to use as a topper, think about a simple bow detail it never goes out of style.

Finally head pieces. You know I'm a fan, and if you're in to statements a bow headpiece would be perfect.

Ribbons or bows is yet another detail I love simply because it is so easy to incorporate no matter your wedding style.

I've seen this engagement session on a few blogs, but every time I see it, it just makes me smile. It's unique, unexpected and full of color. Head on over you'll see what I mean.
