Happy Monday everyone, I hope you had a wonderful weekend. I can't believe February is days away, this month moved way too fast. Last weekend, I was in my local Barnes and Nobel and was looking at the wedding magazine section and started thinking about inspiration sources for planning a wedding. I know there are plenty of blogs offering up creative ideas, color palettes and beautiful real weddings that are sure to inspire any Bride while planning a wedding that I wondered where books fit in the mix when it came to inspiration sources. The reason I was thinking about this is because of this book, Matthew Robbins' Inspired Weddings.

I've seen a few blog postings about Inspired Weddings a couple weeks ago and then went to check it out myself and I just couldn't get over how gorgeous this book is and I immediately thought this book should be on the list if your a Bride planning a wedding and searching for inspiration.

This book offer plenty of fresh and creative ways to design your wedding and is one of those books that can easily transfer beyond wedding planning.

But, I'm still curious about your inspiration sources and if wedding-themed books are included with the blogs and magazines as resources for your wedding or if people like me who aren't planning weddings are more interested in these books. I'd love to hear from those of you planning a wedding or even if you have already had your wedding where did you find inspiration.

Happy Monday everyone. How was your weekend? Mine was cold and gloomy. Is it too soon to say I'm ready for Spring? Because of the gloomy rainy weather, I had time to think about this weeks In the Details Post and I had a few ideas but the one that stuck with me this week is wedding signs and banners.

While wedding signage can appear to be just one more thing to do on that 3-page list you've created, having a few fun signs or banners can add a little whimsy to the day.

Keep it simple with banners that add a bit more decoration to the ceremony or reception site

or use pretty signage to offer your guest guidance to the ceremony location or finding their seat at the reception.

Maybe you want to design something custom that can serve as a keepsake for years to come.

My favorite is using signage to make a grand statement at your ceremony

or marking your departure

Yes, if your list of things to-do is long you may skip creating any wedding signs or banners, but if you're hosting a wedding at a large venue or want to add some unique twist to the day start with pretty signage.

In the Details: the Grooms Cake

Happy Monday everyone. I hope you had a wonderful weekend. When I was thinking of this weeks In The Details post, I had one question for all the Brides-to-Be how do you feel about a Grooms Cake?

When I think about a Grooms cake I immediately think of the bleeding armadillo cake from the movie Steel Magnolias. The origins of the Grooms Cake varies but the concept of this cake is that it is a gift from the Bride to the Groom.

These cakes are completely creative and can showcase anything from a hobby to a favorite food or beverage of the Groom.

Since there will be a traditional wedding cake on display at the reception, why not have fun and add a little extra twist to the cake cutting and reveal a Grooms cake to the Groom and guest.

I have to say, I've attended plenty of weddings, but many of those weddings didn't include a Grooms cake, I sure hope the future weddings I attend include this fun little detail.

Happy Monday everyone. I hope your weekend was lovely. Over the weekend, I was trying to think about what detail I'd share this week. Well nothing was clicking. After looking through various inspiration files on my computer and through google reader and pinterest... still nothing.

Then I thought about how the color gray is everywhere and has become a very popular wedding color used alone or with another color. What seemed like a trend, appears to be here to stay.

In honor of this beautiful neutral, I pulled all the gray inspiration I could in tribute to this lovely color.

What I love about this color is how well it works with all colors and how easily it can be worked into a wedding style be it modern or traditional.

While gray may already be on your radar, if not, hopefully as you build those color palettes or plan for the future, you'll keep this cool color in mind.

Happy Friday everyone. I hope you had a fabulous week. Before we head out for the Halloween weekend, I of course have to share some favorites. I'm a girl who loves pretty tablescapes, so when I saw this post this week, This girl lost it over all these beautiful featured tablescapes. Then I saw this

Happy Monday lovely readers. How was your weekend? I hope it was wonderful. With rain predicted all this week here I spent my weekend playing outside. Since I was distracted by the outdoors, it took me some time to think about this weeks featured detail, but what I kept coming back to is lovely wedding programs

The wedding program seems to be an afterthought. You may have envisioned the design for your Save The Dates, Invitations and Thank You Notes, and then you remember you need a program too.

Instead of something classic (white paper tri-fold with black text), why not have a little fun with your programs? Sure you can stay traditional but add in a little twist like placing all your wedding ceremony details on a fan, personalizing programs to each guest, creating a booklet or go with something you design and do yourself.

There are so many creative options out there when it comes to wedding program, hopefully this sampling can give you some added inspiration.

Happy Monday to you lovely readers. How was your weekend? The cool air here made me wonder if it's time to break out a sweater, but those cool temps seem to be temporary. This week's In the Details post is all about one of my favorite details... Calligraphy.

Who doesn't love seeing beautiful calligraphy on an invitation, used on envelopes, escort cards or menus. While you like me may love calligraphy, sometimes the cost depending on your budget is out of reach.

While there are plenty of tutorials that shows you a cool way to DIY beautiful calligraphy on the envelopes for your wedding invitations, if that's not enough and you want to design your wedding invitations or save the dates using calligraphy but don't have the budget, well... stamp it.

That's right, stamp it. Design a beautiful custom stamps with your wedding invitation or save the date details and all you need is a bunch of friends ready to help assemble your stationery.

If the concept for your wedding stationery designs doesn't include calligraphy, but you want to add a little flair to the envelopes to mark this celebratory occasion, why not use a custom stamp for your return address.

Like with anything for your wedding, it should be all about what you and your groom-to-be want for your special day. If stamping isn't your style, there are plenty of wonderful calligraphers who do beautiful work and will make your stationery look fabulous.
