In the Details: Painted Cakes

Happy Monday everyone. I know my post is a little late today so we'll get right to it. I saw this cake by My Sweet and Saucy a couple weeks ago and could not get it out of my mind. It is truly divine.

I fell in love with the hand painted detail on this cake and was immediately inspired to search for more hand-painted wedding cakes. While the design can range from the simple

to intricate like this design below modeled after a piece of china., there is no limit to the design. You could even mix a hand painted detail with sugar flowers or other design elements.

What I love about the hand painted cake is it's unexpected. The designs are fresh and creative and it allows you to design a cake suited to your theme, a heirloom or like the cake from My Sweet and Saucy that captures the couples relationship.

If your heart is set on beautiful tiers of sugar flowers that's great and it will be lovely. But if you may want something different think about a beautifully hand-painted cake. I hope this little bit of inspiration will help.

In Love with the New Style Me Pretty Inspiration Board Builder

When it comes to planning a wedding it's really about all the details but before the details comes the inspiration. I'm sure you've compiled all types of photos, magazine clips and everything else that inspires the theme for your wedding. If you haven't already, why not create an inspiration board with all of your ideas?

Of course there are plenty of blogs that create beautiful inspiration boards that definitely will inspire you, but if you're looking to create a board all about your wedding and are not familiar with the Inspiration Board Builder from Style Me Pretty, well, let me introduce you. I tried out their new inspiration board tool and created this board.

Using all the gorgeous photos available on the Style Me Pretty site, I could build a beautiful board by just dragging the photos that captured my desired theme and dropping them in the spaces on my inspiration board. If you have photos you would like to use that are not on the site you can easily upload and add them to your board. I loved building this board that I created a few more. If you haven't already head on over and build a board or two.
