In The Details: Budget Savvy Goodness + Etsy

>> Sunday, September 27, 2009

Let's be honest Weddings aren't cheap. Creating the wedding of your dreams sometimes causes Brides-to-be to think outside their financial box. If you're looking for ways to infuse style without compromising your budget. We all know that weddings aren't weddings without the lovely details so how do you have lovely details for your wedding on a budget? I'm so glad you asked that question. Let me introduce Etsy. Have you visited Etsy? If I know you well your answer is yes so maybe what I share won't be brand new to you but just in case it is, go ahead and make a few bookmarks. You can thank me later ;)

With Fall here and Winter right around the corner, I'm sure many Brides are wondering how to cover up to and shield themselves from the cooler weather elements. Worry not, think about adding a stylish Shrug to your ensemble, these from Holly Stalder are fabulous and budget friendly. Order your own through her etsy shop.

Let's continue our talk of ensembles with Sarah Seven. She's been talked about all over the blogs and her dresses have been featured in Utterly Engaged, but despite all these wonderful mentions her etsy shop is full of lovely fashion goodness for you or your bridesmaids.

Now of course Etsy isn't just for attire, but for wedding decor and stationery too. I love the lovely calligraphy of Emilie Friday her whimsical and fanciful hand lettering would be perfect for Save the Dates or invitation envelopes.

Lets not stop there. If you're looking for creative ways to add flair to your reception decor try these fabulous place cards by Timeless Paper. While we'd all like to have all the wonderful table linens and opulent centerpieces doesn't always fit in the budget, so why not use these to add a bit of unexpected loveliness to your reception.

OK, we've only talked about attire and decor and stationery and already I'm feeling like there's been some money saving. I have a few more links for you to check out.

Looking for ways to add some fun decor elements into your reception space, visit PomLove.

Need a creative cake topper try these from Goose Grease or Lollipop Workshop

Looking for goodies fro your Bridesmaids? I'm still in love with these clutches
or think about a stylish necklace to compliment their dresses like this one from Designs by Krissy.

Now all of the Etsy sellers I featured happen to be some of my favorites. Click on over to Etsy and make your own discoveries, don't be shy money saving is to be had at Etsy and who doesn't like saving money?

We're On a Break

>> Tuesday, September 22, 2009

No, not from blogging but from Fashion. I've talked so much about Fall fashion, Fashion Week that well I need a break. Fret not Fashionistas more fashion talk will be had in the future, but for now let's take high style and fashion elswhere like your home.

It's obvious that Grey is the color of the moment. Everywhere you turn Grey is being integrated into various elements of decor so being one not afraid to follow (and often ignore) trends, I wanted to share some little grey lovelies.

Chatelaine Bedding from Anthropologie

I am in love, love, love with these Slate Damask Towels

While some may debate you can't have enough of a good thing, I think that sometimes you do have to throw a little color in the mix, so if you're in a grey state of mind but want a punch of color, these totally stylish rugs by Amy Butler are a great way to mix in a little color.

Now if you would rather stick with grey this Archie Fog Rug by Angela Adams would be perfect too.

Think about these Poppy Vine curtain panels

There is plenty of other ways to add a little grey to the decorating mix in your home whether you go with a little or a lot may these few little lovelies get you inspired.

In the Details: the tablescape

>> Monday, September 21, 2009

I like many of you have been to plenty of Weddings. One way I feel a couple can show off their personality and style is through the design of their reception tables and centerpiece. I know, I know, there are those who may not know a centerpiece can be more than a grouping of flowers. While I know you know this, I'm sure there are plenty of people around you who just don't get it. Worry not, I get it and I know that the standard grouping of flowers while lovely isn't always the first choice.

Why not get creative with your table scape and let your style shine through. Let's stop all the chatter and get to the good stuff... photo inspiration.

add your own twist to the traditional centerpiece and table design.

You may like tradition but want to add a pop of color and a bit more unexpected decorative elements.

Who says that your table should be full of flowers? A centerpiece of candles or tapers is not only lovely but budget friendly.

Thinking that traditional table settings not for you? Let the theme of your wedding do the talking for your table scape.

A lovely school theme for Fall

I love this Modern Baroque table by JL Designs,

There are numerous resources for table scape inspiration and if you want to do something different just do it.

Yes, there are plenty of wonderful designers who create lovely bridesmaids dresses but if you've visited plenty of websites and sifted through countless magazines and still haven't found what your looking for, allow me to share a few more photos for inspiration...
